Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with Rick
It's simple. You tell me what vehicle you're looking for — make, model, features, color preferences, and budget. I use my 50 years of industry experience and dealer contacts to locate the best vehicle at the lowest possible price. I handle all the negotiation so you never have to sit across from a salesperson. You just show up to sign the paperwork and drive away.
My $500 fee is paid upfront and covers the entire car-buying process from start to finish. That includes vehicle research, locating the right car, price analysis to determine the true dealer cost, all negotiation with the dealership, and guidance through the paperwork. There are no hidden charges or upsells — one flat fee covers everything. And if I don't save you more than my fee, you get a full refund. Most car buying services charge $1,000 or more — Rick's $500 flat fee is a fraction of the cost.
Absolutely not. I work exclusively for you, the buyer. I never accept commissions, referral fees, or any compensation from dealerships. That's what sets me apart — my only goal is to get you the lowest possible price. When I'm negotiating, I'm 100% on your side of the deal.
Most deals are completed within 3 to 7 days, depending on the vehicle you're looking for and current inventory. Common models like a Toyota Camry or Honda CR-V can often be found and negotiated within a few days. Specialty vehicles or specific configurations may take a bit longer, but I'll keep you updated every step of the way.
It depends on the dealership. In many cases, I can bring the paperwork for you to sign along with your new car, so you never have to set foot in a dealership at all. When a visit is required, it's just once — and by the time you walk in, the price is locked in, the deal is done, and there's no pressure. Either way, I handle all the negotiation and heavy lifting so you don't have to.
I can help with virtually any new or used vehicle — cars, trucks, SUVs, minivans, and luxury vehicles. Whether you're looking for a practical commuter car, a family SUV, a work truck, or even a BMW or Mercedes, my process works the same way. I have contacts at dealerships across the Upstate and can source vehicles from a wide network.
Yes. While I'm not a lender, I can help you understand your financing options and guide you toward the best rates available. I'll review the dealer's financing offer and let you know if you can do better through a credit union or bank. Many of my clients save additional money on interest because of this guidance.
If I don't save you more than my $500 fee, you receive a full refund — that's my money-back guarantee. I also won't take you on as a client unless I'm confident I can save you money. During your free consultation, I'll assess your situation and give you an honest answer before you pay a dime. In 50 years, I've never had to give a refund because I consistently save my clients far more than my fee. On average, clients save between $1,500 and $4,000 on their vehicle purchase. You have absolutely nothing to lose.
I serve clients across the entire United States. While I'm based in South Carolina, I've helped deliver car deals as far as Phoenix, Arizona, throughout Florida, and as far north as Maine. I work with dealerships in every state — including Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. No matter where you are, I can negotiate a great deal for you.
Yes, I can help you get top dollar for your trade-in or private sale. Most people leave hundreds or even thousands on the table when trading in a vehicle because they don't know its true market value. I'll evaluate your car, advise you on the best selling strategy, and make sure you get a fair price — whether that's through a trade-in or selling it on your own.
